Closing tooth gaps with implants

Dental implants offer the perfect solution to close tooth gaps and improve your quality of life. Regardless of whether it is the loss of a single tooth or larger tooth gaps – dental implants are a long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing solution that helps you regain your original smile.

Advantages of
Dental Implants

  • Natural appearance: Dental implants look and feel like real teeth.
  • Durability: With good care, dental implants can last a lifetime.
  • Bone preservation: Dental implants prevent bone loss, which often occurs after tooth loss.
  • Functional preservation: Dental implants enable normal chewing and speaking without restrictions.
  • High success rate: Dental implants have a high success rate and are very reliable.

With individual advice to the perfectly fitting dental implant

In addition to conventional implant treatment, we also offer immediate treatment with immediate implants. This means that you can receive new, resilient teeth within one session. In both cases, however, a jawbone of sufficient height and width is a prerequisite. Should this not be the case, we are also able to perform a bone augmentation to strengthen the jawbone and securely anchor the dental implant.

You may now be wondering what dental implants actually cost. This question is frequently asked, and prices vary depending on the type of implant and the necessary preparatory measures. If you decide on a dental implant, we will explain all the steps of the implantation to our patients from Nordhorn and the surrounding area as part of a preliminary examination and assess the entire jaw situation. In our practice, we rely primarily on low-radiation, digital 3D X-rays to ensure precise diagnostics.

Professional implantation by an experienced oral surgeon

Dental implants are generally performed under local anesthesia at Zahnklinik Nordhorn. In some cases, if desired, we also offer intravenous sedation, also known as twilight sleep, or general anesthesia, so that our patients can completely relax during the procedure. Dr. Zimmermann M.Sc., our experienced oral surgeon and implantologist, performs the implantations with great sensitivity and experience. Thanks to the latest methods and techniques, we guarantee you a safe and gentle treatment.

Even anxious patients can feel they are in the best hands with us – at any age. We offer you professional support and guarantee a pain-free treatment that is tailored to your personal needs.

Why Nordhorn Dental Clinic?

In our practice clinic, we offer you the entire spectrum of dentistry under one roof – according to our motto “Everything from a single source.” We not only take care of the surgical treatment of dental implants, but also the subsequent provision of high-quality dentures. This is done in close cooperation with a dental laboratory we trust, so you can rely on high-quality results. This is how you receive the entire treatment – from implantation to the final dentures – from a single source and can be sure that all steps are perfectly coordinated.

AESTHETIC DENTISTRY

Aesthetic dentistry in Nordhorn

Your path to a radiant smile

A healthy and radiant smile contributes significantly to your well-being and quality of life. At Zahnklinik Nordhorn, we offer a comprehensive range of aesthetic dentistry services to enhance your smile according to your preferences. We use modern procedures and high-quality materials to provide you with natural, long-lasting and functional results.

All-ceramic crowns and bridges –
Natural appearance and high durability

Modern dentistry today offers dentures that are 100% ceramic. All-ceramic crowns and bridges are characterized by their particularly natural appearance, as the metal color cannot shine through. With its slight transparency and typical light reflection, all-ceramic comes very close to the appearance of natural teeth. This type of denture is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also very durable and has a smooth surface to which bacterial plaque adheres less easily. Ceramic is also biocompatible and therefore ideally suited for allergy sufferers.

Inconspicuous fillings and inlays – Tooth-colored, compatible and durable

Modern filling materials offer many advantages, both in terms of aesthetics and oral compatibility. In our practice, we use aesthetic and biocompatible composite fillings as well as ceramic inlays (inlay fillings). These fillings adapt perfectly to the natural tooth color and are both durable and compatible – an ideal replacement for damaged or decayed teeth.

Veneers for front tooth correction – Perfect dental aesthetics

With veneers, the ultra-thin ceramic veneers, aesthetic defects in the area of the incisors and canines can be corrected gently. Veneers are perfect for treating severe tooth discoloration, bothersome gaps in the front teeth, chipped corners, and minor misalignments. They offer a quick and effective solution to enhance the smile and improve tooth status.

Gentle tooth whitening with bleaching – Radiantly white teeth

A radiantly white smile is often the desire of many patients. At Zahnklinik Nordhorn, we offer gentle bleaching procedures with which we can whiten your teeth quickly and reliably. In this procedure, the gums are first covered before we apply the bleaching gel and trigger the brightening effect through targeted activation. In just one appointment, we can lighten your teeth by up to 7 shades, so that you have a flawless smile again.

Inconspicuous orthodontics with Invisalign – Correct tooth misalignments discreetly

Tooth misalignments are not only functional but also aesthetic impairments. With the transparent plastic aligners of the Invisalign system, we offer you an inconspicuous way to treat tooth misalignments. The advantages of Invisalign:

  • Barely visible aligners – Your fellow human beings will hardly notice the treatment.
  • Comfortable and compatible – The aligners are comfortable to wear and biocompatible.
  • Easy removal – You can easily remove the aligners for eating and dental care, which increases wearing comfort.

Invisalign is a modern and effective method that allows you to correct your teeth discreetly and comfortably without sacrificing aesthetics.

Our service portfolio in aesthetic dentistry

In our practice clinic, we offer you a variety of treatments from aesthetic dentistry that will breathe new life into your smile. Our range of services includes:

  • Ceramic veneers in the anterior region (veneers)
  • Composite fillings and ceramic inlays/onlays
  • Tooth whitening (bleaching)
  • Inconspicuous tooth corrections with Invisalign

All treatments are performed with the highest precision and using high-quality materials. Our goal is to offer you not only functional teeth, but also aesthetic results that match your individual smile.

PERIODONTITIS

Periodontology in Nordhorn

Periodontitis (Periodontal Disease) – The underestimated widespread disease number 1:

Periodontitis is a chronic inflammation of the tooth-supporting tissues caused by bacterial plaque. Initial signs such as reddened or bleeding gums are often ignored – but if left untreated, the disease leads to the recession of gums and jawbone, to tooth loosening and eventually even to the loss of healthy teeth.

But not only your oral health is affected! Periodontitis can significantly impair general health. Bacteria and their toxins enter the body through the bloodstream and promote cardiovascular diseases, rheumatic complaints, poorer diabetes control and even complications during pregnancy.

In Germany, more than 10 million people are affected – but with targeted prevention, early detection and modern periodontitis therapy, the course of the disease can be stopped.

How do I recognize periodontitis?

Healthy gums are pale pink, completely fill the spaces between the teeth and do not bleed when brushing.

Typical signs of a disease:

  • Gingivitis (inflammation of the gums): Red, swollen gums that bleed easily.
  • Periodontitis: In addition to occasionally bleeding gums, symptoms such as bad breath, longer or loosened teeth, a changed tooth position and dull toothache occur.

Attention: Periodontitis can also develop without any noticeable symptoms for those affected!

Treatment: In 3 stages to healthy gums

Pretreatment – The basis for a successful therapy

  • Recording your individual disease status
  • Professional teeth cleaning with polishing of the tooth surfaces
  • Advice on optimal oral hygiene

Periodontitis therapy

  • Deep cleaning: Removal of bacteria and plaque below the gum line
  • If necessary, germ analysis & risk test: Individual determination of the disease-causing bacteria in order to precisely tailor the therapy to them and specifically reduce them to a minimum with antibiotics
  • Antibiotic therapy: Only when proven necessary for targeted germ reduction
  • If necessary, surgical therapy: Careful loosening of the gums, cleaning of deep gingival pockets and removal of diseased tissue

Individual aftercare (UPT – Supportive Periodontitis Therapy)

Since periodontitis is not curable, but can be stopped, we place particular emphasis on regular aftercare appointments with:

  • Control and cleaning of the gingival pockets
  • Removal of new bacterial plaque
  • Support for your oral hygiene routine
Our goal: To preserve your teeth – for as long as possible!

Our maxim:
Tooth preservation before dentures

Periodontitis is the most common cause of tooth loss. Therefore, our focus is on maintaining the health of your tooth-supporting tissues. Once periodontitis – always periodontitis – the disease is irreversible, but with the right treatment we can stop the progress.

Don’t let it get that far! We would be happy to advise you in our practice in Nordhorn in order to keep your teeth healthy in the long term.

PROFESSIONAL TEETH CLEANING

Professional teeth cleaning
(PZR)

An elementary component of our treatment concept

In many dental practices, the focus is still primarily on repairing and treating dental diseases, rather than on prevention. However, this is gradually changing. Prophylactic measures such as professional teeth cleaning are becoming increasingly important – also in our practice clinic in Nordhorn.

Why is prophylaxis important?

Regular professional teeth cleaning (PZR) is a crucial building block for long-term dental health. It makes a significant contribution to preventing tooth decay and gum diseases such as periodontitis, and helps to extend the lifespan of your teeth and dentures. The aim of PZR is to remove stubborn plaque that can accumulate over time on the tooth surfaces and around the gum line. Up to 40% of the tooth surface cannot be freed from bacteria and residue by conventional dental care at home, especially in the interdental spaces, which enormously increases the risk of tooth decay or periodontitis. Regular PZR minimizes the risk of tooth decay by a factor of 70, for example, and thus contributes to long-term dental health.

Procedure for professional teeth cleaning

As part of the professional teeth cleaning, a thorough examination of your teeth and gums is carried out first. Plaque and tartar are then removed from the tooth surfaces, followed by polishing the teeth to make the surface smooth and more resistant to new plaque. Finally, a fluoride treatment is carried out to strengthen the tooth enamel and prevent further tooth decay.

How often should a PZR be performed?

Professional teeth cleaning should take place in our practice at least twice a year to keep your teeth healthy and largely avoid disease. For patients with dental implants, extensive dentures or special health restrictions, we recommend having teeth cleaning performed more frequently. This helps to extend the life of the dentures and avoid possible complications.

Prophylaxis for all patients

Regular professional teeth cleaning is important for all patients – whether young or old. Regular teeth cleaning is also recommended for children and adolescents to promote good oral hygiene from the outset. During pregnancy, it is also particularly important to keep the gums healthy, as hormonal changes can increase the risk of gum disease. In our practice, we offer special pregnancy prophylaxis to help you maintain your dental health during this special time. We also recommend regular PZR for patients of advanced age or those taking certain medications. Here, we pay particular attention to maintaining your natural teeth and preventing root caries and gum disease.

Technology for maximum effectiveness

In our practice, we rely on state-of-the-art technologies from the Swiss company EMS, a leading manufacturer of innovative dental equipment. With high-precision systems such as the Airflow® powder jet device, the Perioflow® device and the piezo-ceramic Scale Piezon PS, even stubborn plaque can be removed thoroughly and gently at the same time.

In particular, Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT), a scientifically based method from EMS, enables targeted, minimally invasive cleaning and thus effectively protects against tooth decay and periodontitis. These advanced technologies not only ensure particularly thorough cleaning, but also maximum comfort during treatment.

Investment in your long-term dental health

Regular professional teeth cleaning is more than just a treatment, it is an investment in your dental health. It not only helps to prevent dental diseases such as tooth decay and periodontitis, but also helps to keep your teeth healthy and functional for a lifetime.

A frequent topic in professional teeth cleaning is the question of costs. As a rule, statutory health insurance companies do not fully cover the costs of teeth cleaning. However, many statutory health insurance companies offer subsidies or cover part of the amount. Additional insurance and private health insurance often cover the entire costs of the prophylaxis measure.

Regular prophylaxis avoids unnecessary follow-up costs, such as expensive dentures or complex treatments due to advanced dental diseases. Investing in your dental health means maintaining your quality of life in the long term and promoting well-being.

  • Treatment of dental trauma
  • Cyst removal in the mouth and jaw area
  • Treatment of changes in the oral mucosa and benign tumors in the oral cavity
  • Treatment of high-risk patients
  • Intravenous sedation / twilight sleep

What is a specialist dentist for oral surgery?

Only dentists who have successfully completed at least four years of further training in oral surgery after completing their dental studies, including licensure, may call themselves specialist dentists for oral surgery. This can only be completed full-time and as a main occupation at approved training centers (including at least 1 year in a hospital for oral and maxillofacial surgery).

During the training, the focus is primarily on implantology, but also on the removal of displaced wisdom teeth, surgical tooth extractions, root tip resections, tumor operations, treatment of facial, head and neck injuries, etc. The oral surgery training content is strictly regulated and includes specific subject areas and treatment procedures.

After 4 years of further training, there is an examination phase at the dental association; after successful participation, one may officially bear the title “Specialist Dentist for Oral Surgery.”

Difference between a specialist dentist for oral surgery and a “normal” dentist

Normal dentists are generalists who can also be active in oral surgery. However, they are not specialized in complex surgical procedures. Specialist dentists for oral surgery, on the other hand, have comprehensive training specifically focused on surgical procedures and are proficient in complex procedures such as implantology, wisdom tooth removal, and maxillofacial surgery. They therefore offer particularly high expertise for demanding treatments and complex surgical procedures that are associated with special risks and requirements.

Dr. Zimmermann, MSc – Your expert for oral surgery

Our specialist dentist for oral surgery, Dr. Zimmermann M.Sc., is your qualified contact person and expert for all questions relating to oral surgery, especially in the field of implantology. Thanks to his many years of experience and constant further training, Dr. Zimmermann M.Sc. is able to perform even complex procedures at the highest level.

Together we will overcome your fear of the dentist – so that you can laugh, speak and eat carefree again after the treatment. We are proud to have helped many patients to a new attitude towards life. We would be happy to invite you to an initial, non-binding consultation to get to know you. RISK PATIENTS

With us, you can expect special caution and consideration

In our practice clinic, we take the needs of risk patients very seriously. We offer you safe and individual care, taking into account your specific health conditions. Regardless of whether you suffer from allergies, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases or other pre-existing conditions, we treat you with the utmost care and expertise. Our practice is completely barrier-free and offers fully air-conditioned treatment rooms. Patients with physical disabilities or walking difficulties can also receive treatment in a safe and comfortable environment. We guarantee empathetic and expert care for all patients.

TWILIGHT SLEEP & GENERAL ANESTHESIA

Gentle anesthesia for anxiety-free treatment

In our practice clinic, we rely on modern anesthesia methods to make your treatment as pleasant and painless as possible. With these advanced techniques, we can perform almost all procedures gently and ensure that you feel safe and relaxed during the treatment.

In most cases, a local anesthetic is sufficient to perform the procedure painlessly. Especially for anxious patients, however, we offer further anesthesia options to increase treatment comfort and minimize tension and dental anxiety. We understand that going to the dentist is associated with stress and anxiety for many patients – that’s why we offer solutions tailored specifically to you to make the treatment as pleasant as possible.

Twilight Sleep (Analgesia Sedation)

A gentle option for anxious patients is twilight sleep (analgesia sedation). Here, the patient remains conscious during the procedure, but feels completely relaxed and feels almost nothing. This method offers an excellent solution for more complex procedures and is performed in combination with a local anesthetic. Twilight sleep allows you to get through the procedure calmly and safely, while never feeling truly disturbed or uncomfortable.

General Anesthesia

In special cases, where the procedure is more extensive, we also offer general anesthesia. With this method, you sleep deeply during the treatment and feel nothing of the procedure. During the general anesthesia, a specialized anesthesiologist continuously monitors your vital functions, so that you are always safe and well cared for. General anesthesia is a particularly safe and effective option for patients who need complete rest during treatment. Although general anesthesia is offered in our practice, it should never be the standard treatment and should only be used in special cases if other anesthesia methods are not sufficient.

Your individually tailored anesthesia

Our goal is to offer you the best possible treatment without you experiencing any pain or anxiety. That is why we will inform you in detail about the various anesthesia methods in order to find the right solution for you together. With us, you don’t have to worry – we accompany you with a lot of understanding and expertise on your way to a pain-free smile.

3D DIAGNOSTICS

DVT Center: Digital Volume Tomography (DVT)

Precise diagnosis and modern treatment planning

In our practice clinic, we offer you digital volume tomography (DVT), a high-tech X-ray procedure that enables precise and detailed three-dimensional imaging of your tooth and jaw structures. This highly modern technology provides an extremely precise diagnostic basis, which is of great importance, especially in complex treatments and surgical procedures.

Thanks to DVT technology, we receive 360-degree sectional images and use them to create a high-resolution 3D image. This exact representation allows us to view your teeth, jawbones, nerves and blood vessels from all angles. Compared to conventional CT scans, the radiation exposure with DVT is many times lower, which maximizes your health and safety during treatment.

With this modern technology, we can not only precisely record your individual jaw structure and anatomy, but also significantly refine the planning and execution of implantations and other complex procedures. In advance, thanks to the DVT, we can carry out digital planning in which the entire procedure is carried out virtually. For you, this means a minimally invasive procedure and precise placement of the implant, which speeds up the healing process.

Further advantages of DVT technology for you as a patient

  • Extremely reliable diagnoses thanks to the three-dimensional representation
  • No contrast agents are necessary
  • Radiation exposure reduced by 70% compared to conventional CT scans
  • Fast recording time: The DVT recording only takes around 30 seconds
  • A 3D simulation of necessary interventions facilitates correct planning, which ensures maximum safety during the operation
  • Shorter operation time: Precise planning makes the procedure more efficient
  • Time savings, as a separate visit to a radiology practice is not necessary
  • Cost clarity: Precise diagnostics ensure a clear cost breakdown and transparency

Speak to your dentist

Our DVT center in the Zahnklinik Nordhorn is also a point of contact for many patients of other dentists who want a more accurate diagnosis and more certainty for their treatment due to the advantages of digital volume tomography. A referral to our practice clinic is possible at any time without any problems.

AUTOLOGOUS BLOOD THERAPY (PRF)

Accelerated wound healing in a natural way

Modern dentistry is increasingly relying on biological methods to optimize healing processes and provide the best possible support for the body. During surgical procedures, we use the innovative biomedical technology Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) – a purely natural form of wound healing promotion that works exclusively with the body’s own material.

Scientific studies prove the positive effects of PRF: It accelerates wound healing, reduces discomfort such as swelling or pain, and promotes the regeneration of bone and soft tissue. PRF is becoming increasingly important, especially in oral surgery, implantology and periodontology.

How does PRF therapy work?

PRF uses the body’s own growth factors to specifically support healing:

  1. Blood collection – A small amount of venous blood is taken before the procedure.
  2. Centrifugation – The blood is processed in a special centrifuge to obtain platelet-rich fibrin – a substance with a high concentration of regeneration-promoting proteins.
  3. Application during treatment – The PRF is applied directly to the wound surfaces or used as a membrane to actively promote healing.

Thanks to this biological healing process, the body can specifically accelerate the regeneration process – without the use of artificial additives or medication.

Areas of application of PRF

PRF therapy is used successfully in many areas of modern dentistry:

  • Implantology – Faster healing of dental implants and optimized bone regeneration.
  • Surgical procedures – Promoting wound healing after wisdom tooth extractions or root tip resections.
  • Periodontology – Supporting the regeneration of the periodontium in periodontitis treatments.
  • Bone augmentation & sinus lift – Stimulation of new bone formation by PRF membranes.

Since PRF is obtained exclusively from the patient’s own blood, the method is particularly well tolerated, safe and biocompatible – an ideal addition for patients who want gentle and effective wound healing promotion.

The advantages of PRF therapy at a glance

  • Growth factors promote faster and improved healing
  • Optimization of the body’s own regeneration potential
  • Significant reduction of pain and swelling after procedures
  • Lowering the risk of infection
  • Exclusively the body’s own material – 100% natural
  • Reduction of secondary bleeding – particularly suitable for patients taking blood thinners
  • Scientifically investigated method with proven effect – the “turbo” for your wound healing

PRF – The natural alternative for optimal healing

With PRF, we rely on an innovative, biomedical therapy that significantly accelerates the healing process and ensures gentle, endogenous regeneration.
